Otaku Customer Support Technician ( NOC )

PIE Inc is a rapidly expanding web hosting company which currently operates a Data center in San Francisco Bay area.  We have continued to make major expansions into the managed dedicated and virtual private server markets.  We are accepting applications for Customer Support Technicians to work directly at our San Francisco Data center.

Job Duties:

  • Provide professional and friendly support consistently via telephone, Live help desk and Skype
  • Troubleshoot and solve a wide range of customer support issues from basic to complex
  • System monitoring and response
  • Operating system and application installation/configuration
  • Performing scheduled maintenance tasks

Skill Requirements:

  • Solid working knowledge of RPM based Linux Distributions
  • Solid working knowledge of Windows Server 2003/2008
  • Experience with Apache, BIND, and IIS preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Ability to work in a team based environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • One year previous experience preferred
  • Ability to work at our San Francisco Data center required

Technical Sales Consultant, Servers / Hosting

  • Develop a deep understanding of PIE's products
  • Operating system and application installation/configuration
  • Outbound calling to targeted supplied leads
  • Provide consultative services to business professionals
  • Communicate and present to customers by phone, online and in-person
  • Utilize a CRM tool to manage contacts and leads.
  • Identify industry trends and recommend new product ideas

Senior Software Developer

PIE Inc. is looking for an experienced PHP / Web developer to assist in the development of the internal applications that help run our daily operations. These areas include Billing, Helpdesk, Workflow Management, Monitoring and more. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, and must be able to deliver software projects from start to finish.

Job Duties:

  • Assist in the planning, development, testing, debugging, documenting and deploying of our internal software.
  • Gather requirements and plan for future software development.
  • Develop structured code that is easy to use, reliable, and maintainable.
  • Develop testing procedures, and use those procedures for verifying software development.
  • Help with the software debugging process. (Verifying, recording, patching, communicating).
  • Provide adequate documentation for other developers and users.
  • Deploy software in a 24/7 environment with minimal impact.
  • Work primarily on development but also perform DBA tasks and systems administration duties as needed.
  • Provide support for internal operations.
  • Help develop tools needed to integrate new products into our systems.

Requirements:

  • Proficient in PHP, and Web development Techniques.
  • Experience developing relational databases.
  • Familiarity with web architectures.
  • Some JavaScript knowledge.
  • System administration with strong Linux/Unix familiarity.
  • Able to work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Self motivated, goal oriented.
  • Strong communication skills.

Pluses:

  • Familiar with HTML::Mason, Database ORM's such as DBIx::Class, Class::DBI
  • Familiar with AJAX, C, and Perl XS
  • Experience in the web hosting industry.
  • RPM Package development and repository knowledge
  • Understanding of IPC (Signals, Unix domain sockets, message queues, etc.).
